As we welcome the warmth of spring and the promise of renewal, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our dedicated volunteers and generous donors throughout the winter months. Thanks to your support, our team at St. Matthew’s House is able to continue to focus on lifting up the most vulnerable people among us – connecting them with the necessities of life such as food, housing and financial security.

We invite you to join us in our continued efforts to create positive change in our community. With your support, we have accomplished remarkable feats, but there is still much more work to be done.

This spring, we are thrilled to announce exciting fundraising events designed to bring our community together in support of St. Matthew’s House. There are numerous opportunities for you to get involved and make an impact. Together, we can raise awareness and make this a season of hope and support for those who need it most.

As we embark on this new season, let us take this opportunity to foster hope and drive change together. With your ongoing support, we can cultivate a brighter future for every member of our community.

Thank you for being an essential part of our St. Matthew’s House Family!

Warming Bus

A lifeline for people experiencing homelessness on chilly nights: Special overnight service offers food, resources and respite from the cold.

“Since December, the warming bus, staffed by St. Matthew’s House outreach workers and driven by HSR operators, has typically picked up between 20 and 30 riders a night, the social service agency says.

The homeless-serving bus is nearing the end of its inaugural season as part of the city’s expanded December-though-March winter response program. It was launched amid an enduring homelessness crisis that has packed shelters and left parks dotted with tents.

It has offered a rolling safe space where people can warm up, grab some shuteye, and have a snack and drink under the supervision of trained staff.

Build Hope – Join Our Monthly Giving Program

With your support, we can continue to build on these achievements and make an even greater impact within our community. The work of our Seniors and Street Outreach Team is just one example of the incredible transformations we can achieve when our community comes together.

Your monthly contributions give us the means to provide dependable, ongoing support to those we serve. It’s key to helping us move beyond crisis management, band-aid solutions and short-term fixes.

Imagine the impact a steady and predictable source of income can have on seniors and others in need,
when we can consistently connect them with the necessities of life such as food, housing,
mental health services and financial security.
